As a graphic designer he has developed corporate designs for start-ups, NGOs and companies all over the world. With the Atelier Am Stein and projects such as “Hohes Land – Utopia 2115”– “antours - antventure holidays” or “Humants” he and the Am Stein design collective think way outside the box.
In 2015, Wolfgang Hartl illustrates his first children's book, ASAGAN – New Historie(s) with Erika Friedl, which is lauded as "One of the most beautiful books in Austria“. 9 more ASAGAN books and 3 audio books are published, winning more awards and prizes such as the "Austrian Children's and Young People's Book Prize" in cooperation with Wien Museum, Albertina, NÖ Landesmuseum, Austrian National Library, Hamburg Kinderbuchhaus, ACF London, ACF New York and more.
In 2021 he co-founded „Edition 5Haus“, which publishes Napoleon sleeps with Mona Lisa. The publishing house produces illustrated books for all ages as well as Slow Books for a sustainable future.
